ABOUT WASEELA
‘Waseela’ is a first of its kind resource platform for survivors of gender-based violence in Pakistan. It aspires to strengthen gender-based violence prevention through connecting survivors with critical information and reliable essential services such as legal, mental health and social support, alongside informing them about ways and means to safeguard their rights and to report various forms of violence against women. Waseela is an initiative by DASTAK, a campaign (supported by U.S. Consulate General Karachi) that aims to transform behaviours and attitudes that contribute to perpetuation and legitimization of violence against women at community level through awareness, community engagement and advocacy, leading to an equitable and violence-free Pakistan.
